I was talking to a friend who asked me what was the slashiest program I had ever seen on TV was, and I just couldn't decide. My current obsession for Supernatural was compelling, obviously, as was the fact that K/S were the original slash pairing, and that I first ever thought of slash whilst watching The Professionals (OMGthey'resodoingit), but in the end I went for Starsky and Hutch. Seriously. 'Prime time, french-kissing homos', as a charming critic said at the time. And just so sweetly in love.

What do you think?

I was going to vote for Smallville, but for me the slashiest show is Life on Mars UK version.

Doh! I can't believe I missed that. I was always thinking 'kiss him, kiss him'... they usually went for punches instead of kisses, obvs, but you know it was very, very, very close! ;-)

Dude, I just can't decide. I mean, S/K - I was too little to realise it at the same but I mean, they're the reason for the \, right? And Highlander... that scene with the paint and the triangle with Kronos? But then there's also Smallville with Lex like courting Clark. And yeah, Mulder and Krycek and Daniel and Jack and - I just cannot decide. *shrugs helplessly*

I don't think I could make this decision on a Tuesday either. It just cannot be done. And you're evil even asking for it. ;P

I know, I know. And seriously, don't forget about the jealousy fest with Byron. And the self-invite to the couch. And the sword to the throat on the first day because Methos is just a slut, apparently. And - God, I miss that show.

Mwahahaha! (mine is an evil laugh ;-)

Oh, God, still possibly my favourite show ever. Meeeethos. How comfortable they were around each other... and then the Horsemen, and then Byron and the tension you could cut with a knife. Oh, God, that is how you do that, TV.

Yes, yes, yes! Just the idea of immortality and Methos defintely the bestest character ever invented for the screen and - wah, I miss that show.

Hi new friend! Spurt and Kock?? LOL!! Never heard that one before. And quickeningasms? I like the way you think, bb!

In the end, I chose th same as you. Starsky and Hutch .... I get all fluttery just thinking about the two of them ...

Hi there!

Spurt and Kock *g* Totally a Freudian slip when I was exictedly explaining the wonders of of slash to a friend. Sadly I just immediately lost all credibility for my brilliant arguement while she laughed herself stupid ;-)

Starksy and Hutch! I just watched with my mouth agape at how much they are in love. *smishes them*

NCIS. I don't usually get a slash vibe (assuming you define slash as being non-canon, because if you don't then QAF has to be my winner - UK or US version) but when Gibbs walks in and starts giving orders, when he's such an uber-Top and when he keeps slapping DiNozzo upside the head . . . so, okay, it's not just a slash vibe, it's a BDSM-vibe with slashy and/or threesome (Gibbs/DiNozzo/Abby, which I know, isn't slash) overtones *g*

Date: 2008-06-22 04:34 pm (UTC)
From: [identity profile] jasmasson.livejournal.com
Sounds very interesting... you know you had me at BDSM-vibe ;-)

I've never seen it, actually, but it looks like that's something I should remedy!

From: [identity profile] hollyilex.livejournal.com
As I said, I really don't usually see anything in canon (which doesn't stop my enjoyment of slash at all) but Gibbs does tend to bark orders at people. Then he had an exchange with one of his team which went something like this:
Kate: I know, you're going to ask me to fetch . . . (can't remember what she had to do).
Gibbs: Wasn't going to ask (tone clearly says, I was going to order you)

Now, if that's not hitting me over the head with a two-by-four, I don't know what is *g*

Then when he took on a new team member, one of the first things he says is "You're mine now."

Plus, whenever DiNozzo says something inappropriate Gibbs slaps him upside the head. So one time, DiNozzo says his piece and ducks, Gibbs grins and says something like "You think I'm going to smack your head?" DiNozzo says "Yes,' and Gibbs says "Nope." Then after a few more lines, Gibbs walks past DiNozzo and smacks his head. DiNozzo protests and Gibbs says "It's no fun if you're expecting it."

When Gibbs is really pissed off with McGee, he takes his chair away and McGee has to work from a kneeling position *g*

I'm sure there are more examples, and they look better than they sound. I *love* NCIS. I've just finished watched S4 again - we haven't had S5 yet :-( - but I must say, I think S1 and S2 were better.

You realize, of course, that it's impossible to make a serious choice. I did my best, and gave what I thought was the most logical answer, but past a certain point I think you've just got a bunch of shows that are all "OMG teh SLASH!" and that's sort of it. :)

Angie, who used to have a pile of Starsky and Hutch zines :D

It's a tough choice ;-) They're all choc-full of subtext. *g*

Date: 2008-06-22 05:33 pm (UTC)
From: [identity profile] green-grrl.livejournal.com
So hard to choose!!! Esp. with Smallville in the running (OMG the eyefucks!). Torchwood is out for me because I'm counting subtext only, so it's Due South, where Fraser and Ray did, in fact, compare their partnership to marriage and ride off in the sunset together!

Date: 2008-06-22 06:00 pm (UTC)
From: [identity profile] jasmasson.livejournal.com
The ending of dueSouth was the slashiest ending to any show I've ever seen, most definitely. And Smallville suffers from later seasons failures but S1 and 2 were unbelievably slashy!

Have you read the new Smallville RPS The Seven Year Tease (http://tasabian.livejournal.com/19554.html)? Truest line ever:

"Guys!" says the director. "Would you lay off with the Looks? This scene is about Lana, not about foreplay between you two!"

"He really doesn't understand this show at all, does he?" whispers Michael.

While Starsky and Hutch might be the slashiest show, the single slashiest scene ever was on Wiseguy between Sonny and Vinnie. Here's a link to it on Youtube - Start watching around 7:50 until the end.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1Mv9Uy76fM0

To set the scene up, if you don't know the show, Sonny is a mobster, Vinnie is an undercover Fed who, while infiltrating Sonny's operation, became Sonny's BFF. In this scene Sonny's found out the truth, they're trapped in an old theater together, and they've just beaten the crud out of each other.

Hi new friend *g*.

The movies were so amazingly slashy. In II when he dies and they can't touch each other and III is just basically a fairytale romance between them. They are the Godfathers of slash!

I can't believe you made this quiz one choice only instead of ticky boxes. TICKY BOXES!! There are many, many slashy attributes to be... uh... attributed to Buffy, SGA, Prison Break, Due South, and yeah, okay, TW, but only cuz it's canon, and maybe Smallville, even though I don't watch it, but even I can see Lex's unrequited lusting after the farmboy... um... what was I saying? There's wine. YEAH. SLASHINESS. Okay. There's slashiness to be found in a great big heap of them, but SPN is the only one that made me believe in ON SCREEN INCEST. So they win(cest). A lot. Um.

CHEERS!!

Mwahahaha! Because I am evol ;-)

Supernatural broke quite a few of my slash boundaries, it's true!

I badly wanted to vote for Supernatural, but I had to be honest with myself and go for "Starsky and Hutch" as well. It's all there in both shows, but it was freaking hands-all-over-each-other OVERT in Starsky and Hutch.

'Prime time, french-kissing homos'

Is there a, um, video clip or some photo stills you could hook me up with for that last part? *bats eyelashes*

Spurt and Kock was me tripping on my tongue ages ago... and seemed to fit them so well ;-)

Alas, the critic was exaggerating. I found the quote here:

(and I apparently mangled the quote a bit, too. All the right words, not necessarily in the right order! ;-)

I'd choose The Sentinel with the Jim/Blair pairing. It's a really slashy slow and the bloopers are even slashier. *g*

It is still very popular. I read fic in this fandom all the time and there are a lot of fairly new authors in it as well. =>}

TOO HARD! I ended up going with SG1, because Jack/Daniel are seriously an old married couple from the minute they meet each other and they end up with their lives and emotions so entwined in each other that it's just ... SO CLEAR! I completely understand people who went with SPN, but I think that the epic love of that show walks the blurry line between being brotherly and being more, uh, carnal, shall we say? SG1 doesn't have the extra layer of previous connection to build on and yet they are still in a most profound and epic love. *nods*

SG1 was my slash gateway drug!
