Stuff I've been reading recently in a range of fandoms (I really need to commit to one) that has been AMAZING.

1) Julia Roberts Sits on a Throne of Lies by

smithereen, Hocky RPS, Jonathan Toews and Patrick Kane, NC17, whore!fic, WIP, in which Tazer is the worst hooker ever and Kaner sucks at paying for sex. OK, I have never seen these guys play a game of hockey but that doesn't matter, even if you know nothing at all about them, this is brilliant.

FYI, all I know about hockey I learnt from Of Hawks and Hands a F/K 200,000 word fic by

dsudis. If you like slash and haven't read this you have no idea what you've been missing out on. You will forever rue the days weeks months and years in which you had not read this fic. Easily one of my top 20 fics of all time.

2) Team Building Activities by

valtyr, 38,000 words, The Avengers, Steve/Tony, R. The best avengers fic I've read, I think.

3) The Illusion of Life by

toestastegood, Heroes, Mylar, 6,600 words, set in the 5 years gone universe, read the author's warnings. Shona writes in many fandoms very much to my taste, and this is the best Mylar fic I've ever read (I read it years ago, it was written straight after Season One, I think). Brilliant fic, just as good on the re-read.

4) Kings of the Mountain by

sloganeer, The Social Network, 12,000 words, Mark/Eduardo, NC17, AU. Nice AU in which the separation never happened and they slowly developed a relationship instead. Lovely, sexy, curtain!fic.

1) Loving the idea for a women in fandom week next week:

2) On a diet - started Monday, so far so good. From my friend's wedding pics I looked and thought, OMG, who is that?! So I set myself a challenge to lose 26 pounds by Christmas. It sounds like a lot because it is. D:

2a) So obviously I'm craving cake. This makes awesome cake. Also, I love recipes that have videos with them don't you? Makes it so much easier and conquered my fear of making ganache!

Ya know how I was complaining about how no one was writing Mark/Eduardo anymore except in bite sized pieces yesterday? Well, today I would like to complain about how Jared Padalecki never comes to my house to have sex with me because the very next day, an awesome M/E 75k word fic with kink!

YES. It is like all my Christmases at once.

Seriously - whether you like TSN or not, this is a brilliantly crafted fic incorporating BDSM and relationships and personalities and how they all mesh (or don't mesh) together. It's pretty 'lite' BDSM, though (no more than a few short scenes, no more than spanking and tying up), so even if that's not your cup of tea, it's still a masterpiece:

I enjoy lists:

1) I'm going to sign up for ae-matchup. I'm going to write something again, dammit, I refuse to let horrid work keep me from enjoying fandom. You can too! (but only today, because sign ups close today)

2) My fandoms are not very active, alas. I should know waaayyy better than to get invested in movie fandoms (they burn hot and short as there isn't the fuel to the flames of a regular TV series to keep them going) but I currently care about Inception, The Eagle and The Social Network and they're all next-to-over as the next big thing (X-Men it seems) comes along. *le sigh*

3) On the subject of fandom sadness: WOE, I just removed my last, token SPN icon. I'm on a basic account and so only get 6. Au revoir, half-naked Sammy. It was a wrench, I'm not gonna lie.

4) Unpopular fandom opinion: I am feeling very nervous about Merlin because I'm not really happy about ( maybe a very, very vague spoiler? ). I watch for Arthur and Merlin. If there's not enough of them together, or even long stretches with neither, I'll start putting it on my sky+ and skipping through the bits they're not in :(

5) Ahahahaha.

Have I ever mentioned how much I have loved all recent incarnations of Doctor Who? Nine, Ten and Eleven have all been a delight to me. And have I ever said how much I love John Simms as The Master? (He can Master me anytime. Ahem. Sorry.) No? Consider it said.

Ease my worried mind by Petra (

petronelle), is Life on Mars in

xanthelj's BDSM universe. Explicit, 24k, Sam/Gene, Sam/Annie and it is utterly PERFECT. Doing in character BDSM is SO VERY HARD, and this is unutterably brilliant. A++++++++
