Following in destina's footsteps where she rec'd vids, I thought I'd commemorate the end of Smallville with a Clex fic rec post.

There was some great, dare I say seminal, fics written in Smallville fandom, and though I stopped watching and reading in about S3 (couldn't stomach the Lex/Lana) so obvs all fics AT LEAST 7 years old!, there are two that stick firmly in my mind and I'll never forget:

1) Koi's Mercy (dark, noncon, torture). JFC that's one hell of a fic. I've talked about it on this journal before, because it's a fic that's always at the top of my mind when I think of great fic. I probably can't say it's my favourite, because it's a difficult fic, but I LOVE how it's written from a POV that isn't, uh, well-balanced and should, by rights, not be sympathetic. It's just amazingly written. One of the best fics I've ever read.

2) You know how one of the great things about fandom is how it builds on itself - remixes and inspired works, often because you read a fic and you think that was GREAT, but I would have done X slightly differently, or it would have been great in Y fandom, or with Z pairing, and so we get inspired? Every fandom I'm ever in, I always want to write a version of this fic in it. I never do - but I always WANT to.

And an honorable mention to The Rules of Blue by the goddess-like Thamaris. And The Orbiting Series by Rhiannonhero. (This leads to her fic page, go down to the series links at the bottom. For some reason this is the only place I can find all the fics together - SSA and AO3 are incomplete). Great fic.

I also wrote in Smallville myself. Only twice, but, hey, I've never been prolific in any fandom, so that's not too bad. FYI here are my fics. Warning - Maybe Baby is diabetes-inducing:
