I had a lovely birthday with some delicious birthday ficlet gifts:
Reeling from the beautiful and goddess-like
halfshellvenus - John McClane has an effect on Matt Farrell... WHO CAN BLAME HIM? *worships*
SPN and Leverage ficlets from the uber versatile and wonderful
havenward. Protective!Dean and discovering girls!Dean are delightful - and <333333333 HARDISON. *hearts*
I just gotta rec two other things I've read recently too:
This is Sparta - (SPN, gen) by
lovesrain44. Oh My God. AMAZINGLY powerful writing. Reminds me of the brilliant I must not tell lies by
girlfan1979. WARNING: They both include discipline of children/youngsters which could be considered abuse. In neither of these do I get the impression of John as cruel, just misguided, but YMMV on that a LOT - particularly on Sparta. But, if you can bear it - AMAZING writing.
The Light of Munin by
leonidaslion SPN wincest. WARNINGS - non/dub con, angst, torture, etc
Yeah, OK - it's pretty gruesome in places but if you can take it this is extraordinary. They're meant to be out of character, that's the plot in fact, but they're so IN CHARACTER while being OOC it's just incredible writing. To be able to write IN character OOC? The mind boggles. READ EEEET. I've read it twice even though I've had approximately 3 seconds internet time in the past six months. Just finished, and... started it again.
