Re AO3 - you don't need bookmarking, but you do need an invite - which I (as an AO3 member, because I did yuletide last year) can send you. Let me know the email addy you'd like to set your account up on, and I'll mail you an invite. It's still not instant, but you should be able to get an account pretty quickly.
Not quite sure what you mean re the bookmarking - I do use delicious, but there's no link to AO3 or anything.
