So, I'm aware it's been slightly doom and gloom around here re SPN recently, so I have decided to make an entirely cheerful little picspam of some of my favourites...

But one of the things I like best about candid J2 is shown below. They're not either of them at their prettiest (Jensen - are your clothes polyester? And what the hell is that on your face? Jared - do your hair, and check your jeans for holes when going to a red carpet, man), but I love how, away from a photographer going "slouch, Jared", or camera angles, or Dean's huge personality, you can really see just how much bigger than Jensen Jared is. Mmmm. Size kink. \o/



Oh, and an extra of Jared, because I'm biased ;)

I think I need a new love, but it's so scary to take the plunge. And every time I find a new contender, I find angst there too. Maybe I do need to get into Disney. No, no, no!

I think I need a new love

ME TOO! But it's easier said than done! I'm loving the JoBros - there's no angst there (if you ignore the fact that they're underage, christian, incestuous virgins - which I obviously DO), but the problem is, it's a very small fandom. SPN has spoiled me with dozens of fics a day. I kinda need a bigger fandom to supplement JoBros but of the options I've come up with:

1) I was very happy with bandom, but then Panic at the Disco split up (and jesus, if you think SPN is painful, you should have been there).

2) American Idol - I think the glory days are over now the tour is over and it will become less prolific than it is now.

3) Star Trek - People! Being WRONG on the internet, shocker! Yeah, no, I used to read in TOS and so I know my OTP and it is NOT Kirk/McCoy people!

4) Merlin - there's actually no bad there at the moment. Prolific fandom, good writers, very slashy angst-free canon. But, I know how that ends, and it could get painful. I'VE BEEN HURT BEFORE!! ;)

I recall all the PATD angst at fandomsecrets over the summer. It sounded... v v painful. As for AI, I keep thinking it looks like fun and then I think it would be soul-sucking, and I am morally opposed to sitting through two hours of advertising to find out who's going home.

OMG, Star Trek. I tried, I really did. But I oddly enough brought no wank tolerance to the fandom, and pretty much fume every time someone disses a character I like (which is near-constant.) Plus the old-new divide weirds me out.

And I think that is the reason I have never been able to get into Merlin. I was such an Arthurian Legends fangirl as a child and it will all go sour. (Okay, what happened to my optimism there?)

As for shiny new things... honestly, nothing has popped up. I tried a few pilots this season and was unimpressed. Yes, even Glee did nothing for me. So instead I've been revisiting long-dormant fandoms and playing there. A lot of Lord of the Rings, a lot of Troy, except then I always get hella depressed, a lot of Firefly/Serenity.

I wish there was something else, because I pretty much removed all the SPN comms from my flist because they just annoyed and depressed me. And now LJ is boring and lonely.

I did write a Galaxy Quest ficlet recently, and it made me brilliantly happy. But I'm increasingly afraid that I'm just going to leave fandom. It's not something I want to do, and I certainly don't want to lose all my fandom friends, but it's like trying to catch smoke. *insert additional dramatic metaphors here* You know?

*sigh* I knooooow. Only the weechesters are Not My Cup Of Tea right now for whatever reason, which leaves me with... nil? I suspect that the older I get, the older my decency cut-off gets. How terribly depressing. :P

Believe it or not, after a couple of weeks of feeling utterly doom and gloom and I shall never love again, tonight I have found a shiny new toy, guaranteed to drive me crazy in no time at all.

I had been visiting with and absolutely adoring old fandoms that inevitably end and break my heart, not necessarily in that order like Torchwood and Firefly, but damn if I get another Netflix disc before Friday, and my favorite prof mentioned Flashforward today in class, so I watched it, and and and. Shiny.

I can already feel it sucking at my soul and breaking my heart, but. Besides, a spark of interest is really all I require to summon the necessary delight and anticipation, so until my heart goes boom in a big way again, I am eagerly watching and tryign to figure out what the hell I ship. Wheeeee!
