Recs: Favourite Fic List

I just felt this needed to be done for my own gratification.

Here is a list of my favourite fics in all the fandoms I have written in OR read consistently over my 8 years (with a few breaks) in fandom. I gave myself a pass to include two if one of my favourites was pure porn (which it often was).

Fandoms in what I have wrote:

Supernatural/J2

J2 - [livejournal.com profile] esohpe's The Jared Padalecki Untitled Project

Supernatural gen - ...and say hello to the gen. I know. No one is more surprised than me. [livejournal.com profile] kroki_refur's But for the Grace

Supernatural S/D - [livejournal.com profile] calicokat’s Fathomage (some het!)

Supernatural S/D - and in the just the porn, ma'am, just the porn category [personal profile] poisontaster's Sex Pollen verse (D/s themes)

And, hell, have to give an honourable mention (again in the gen category) for [livejournal.com profile] big_pink’s Red and sequel Dazzleland. And also [livejournal.com profile] destina’s Indelible. WTF with all the gen?! To compensate, hang the one story per fandom idea, and have this lovely wincest too [livejournal.com profile] nymeria’s Hush. (OK, sorry, back to one per fandom – more or less.)

Lord of the Rings and guests (mainly Eric Bana) Real Person Slash

Vigorli - [livejournal.com profile] lady_razzle's Abuse of Power (I give you her fic page because, also? All-Inclusive. Chrrrist.)

Troy

Hector/Paris - [livejournal.com profile] montmorency's Princes of Troy (friends locked, incest)

Harry Potter

H/D - Maya’s Your Every Wish (dark)

dueSouth

F/K - [livejournal.com profile] cesperanza's Some Strange Prophecy (and, hell, while I'm here, Chicago's Most Wanted and About a Dog - couldn't help myself)

X-Files

I let myself have two, one Mulder/Krycek, one Skinner/Krycek because they're very different things. Ahem.

M/K - Sleeps with Coyotes' Blood, Love and Rhetoric (violence)

Sk/K - [livejournal.com profile] lorelei633's Shaken (rape and abuse)

Smallville

Clex - Koi's Mercy (dark)

Highlander

D/M - Dayspring's Save the Last Dance for Me. Or did I mean her The Mottled King? Or, no, was it Sleeps With Coyotes' Still Heart?

D/M for the porn - CM Decarnin's Hades (8 parts) and sequel Seeds (S/M relationship, references to rape and abuse), or wait, was it Aristide's The Declaration? Or maybe Mariad Triste's (same person, actually)Shades of Gray Trilogy (dark, dark, dark)?

(Ahem. Got a bit carried away there.)

And fandoms in what I have read:

Man From Uncle

Annnd it's gen again! - And possibly the fic I would take with me if stranded on a desert island (and, you know, knew in advance to take fic) - Pat Foley's Partners

Star Wars

Q/O and O/non-human - Sleeps with Coyote's Fear. The squick factor is high - this is a crossover with Alien including Alien!non-con and torture. But. It is amazing.

The Professionals

B/D - Where the Worms Are by Pamela Rose

Prison Break

All of [livejournal.com profile] halfshellvenus’s PB fic

Stargate SG1

Jack/Daniel - ELG's Alter Ergo and sequel in the just the porn category (drugged!sex)

Jack/Daniel - Quinn's An Echo of Freedom (non-con)

Stargate Atlantis

McShep - [livejournal.com profile] astolat's A Beautiful Lifetime Event (yes, OK, and everything she's ever written in Supernatural)

And I'd never have read these fandoms but the fics were just. That. Good.

The Outsiders Dally/Johnny - [livejournal.com profile] 3jane's Raw

Batman Bruce/Dick - MJ Lee's A Song of Innocence and An Old Passion (rape)

The Breakfast Club John/Brian - [livejournal.com profile] resonant8's Higher Education and sequel Bare

Thanks for posting that -- rec lists always make me feel like it's Christmas. :D

You're welcome. I love recs lists - particularly when I'm pressed for time and need a quick fix ;-)

Ha! I was going to be all impressed that you'd managed to keep it to just one, but not so much. ;-)

I've been thinking of going back and adding little heart on my recs lists to my "desert island" fics.

[identity profile] jasmasson.livejournal.com 2007-06-20 07:07 am (UTC)(link)
*snigger* I had such good intentions ;-)

There are some fics I just couldn't do without, and I think you starring all your favourite excellent recs with a heart would be a great idea. There's so much great fic out there.. it's so hard to choose (see above ;-)

[identity profile] montmorency.livejournal.com 2007-06-20 05:52 am (UTC)(link)
You've had quite a slew of fandoms, haven't you? Thanks for the "Hush" rec - I devoured it whole.

I read the Cesperanza dS stuff a long while ago and remember the name and even the story titles, because it was all so good.

You are very right that some authors are worth following into fandoms that one otherwise has no interest in.

*snogs*

I know - it says such bad things about my attention span ;-)

BTW, as you're just sliding into SPN, I love killa's rec page:
http://seacouver.slashcity.net/killa/spnrecs.html

and destina's:

http://lyricalmagic.com/spnrecs.html

Oh, and amothea's... nicely categorised:

http://amothea.livejournal.com/321548.html

I'm reccing reccers now! I'm a reccing machine ;-)

Thanks so much! I've been enjoying these rec sites. OMG there's so many stories. It's really cool to find I'm not at the tail end of a fandom. ;-)

P.S. Dean is as adorable as he thinks he is.

[identity profile] hated-addiction.livejournal.com 2007-06-20 08:41 am (UTC)(link)
Oh oh oh, you are GREAT. I was seriously contemplating a fic search for Maya's Your Every Wish today cause I couldn't remember the title or the author. You are WONDERFUL.

xx

[identity profile] jasmasson.livejournal.com 2007-06-20 02:58 pm (UTC)(link)
Huzzah! What excellent taste you have ;-) It's one that really stays with you, isn't it?

[identity profile] halfshellvenus.livejournal.com 2007-06-20 05:23 pm (UTC)(link)
Whee-- thanks for the recs on my Prison Break stuff!

And I so seriously love [livejournal.com profile] montmorency's Hector/Paris stories. Every one of them is just incredible. Guh.

[identity profile] jasmasson.livejournal.com 2007-06-21 08:04 am (UTC)(link)
Well, you are the authority in Prison Break fic to my eye ;-)

Always love pretty much anything [personal profile] montmorency does...

[identity profile] montmorency.livejournal.com 2007-06-22 02:36 am (UTC)(link)
You too! (on the blush thing)

[identity profile] montmorency.livejournal.com 2007-06-22 02:36 am (UTC)(link)
OMG you are so making me blush. *blushes*

[identity profile] halfshellvenus.livejournal.com 2007-06-22 05:25 am (UTC)(link)
*dons sunglasses against radiance*

You were my inspiration when I began writing Prison Break fiction, and the brothercest in particular. That was such a love-driven relationship in such a more-than-normal way, and you'd definitely planted the seeds.

The notion of writing as well as you do is still far, far off into the future. ;)

[identity profile] montmorency.livejournal.com 2007-06-23 05:16 am (UTC)(link)
Stop! My cheeks are burning! And yet that's cool, that I inspired someone. Wow. :)

If you have some SPN fic, I want to check it out. Never saw Prison Break, so... never read any of that.

*psst* (in case Karen's too modest ;-)

Try this one for gen (http://halfshellvenus.livejournal.com/113167.html) and, ohh, this one for slash (http://halfshellvenus.livejournal.com/117555.html)... although that's a sequel to someone else's story... which was a slash rewrite of a gen, er, you should read them all! And all of her slash (http://halfshellvenus.livejournal.com/82678.html) and all of her gen (http://halfshellvenus.livejournal.com/75195.html)!!...

...you're not busy, today, are you? ;-)

[identity profile] montmorency.livejournal.com 2007-06-24 09:50 pm (UTC)(link)
Thanks, I've spent most of my spare moments in the last few days reading her fabulous stuff! And Jensen is totally totally adorable. (cute icon - *g*)
